Having been a keen photographer since the age of seven, I decided to send some images to some calendar companies in 1992. Sending four medium format transparencies to a calendar company they accepted two, and another calendar company accepted four out of six.
I switched to medium format (6cm x 7cm) in 1992, as I felt the bigger format had much more scope for the type of photography I do, compared to the 35mm format, which I was never keen on. Most publishers in those days preferred the bigger format.
In October 2006 I switched to digital, and have found it much more versatile, with its ability to be used at much higher ISO levels without becoming grainy, as film would become more grainy at higher speeds due to the halides being larger.
I specialise in the following categories: Gardens, close up, Flowers, Still Life, Special effects, Landscape & Seascape, Cities, Towns & villages and wildlife. I have done much Portraiture in the past, along with lifestyle portraiture. I did do some food photography for a magazine a few years ago now.
From 1992 - 1994 I worked part time at Thurrock Technical College here in Essex. In the make-up department, photographing the students after they had been made up by other students doing the make-up courses run by the college. These images were for the students portfolio’s. Black & White was as popular as colour. I printed many 10” x 8” mono prints with my enlarger for the students.
Over a thirty year period I have supplied three different picture libraries, with UK scenes, curiosities, to villages, town, and general landscape scenery. Many have been used in various magazines and calendars in the UK and around the world.
Have had many pictures used in calendars and on front covers through direct sales over many years.
For stock location photography I cover the whole of southern England, East Anglia, Midlands, Wales, Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland & Yorkshire.
For commissions I will travel the whole of UK mainland.
I am building up many images of London, the popular areas and the not so well known areas.
I do not wish to hear from any SEO companies, or Web Design companies, or Picture Restoration companies, nor business administration advisor companies. If I do I will not reply to any.
